Glasgow Tool Library is excited to bring you monthly Workshops 4 Women-identifying and all non-binary people, throughout April, May, & June at Civic Street Yard.
Location: Civic Yard (opposite Civic House), Civic Street, G4 9RH
Time: 18.00 – 20.30
Date: 27.04.22 | 25.05.22 | 29.06.22
Each workshop will guide you through a stand-alone project, providing opportunities to practice hand tooling and using common power-tools. Workshops are a welcoming and supportive environment to share DIY know-how and gain confidence in your abilities. Complete beginners are very welcome with volunteers and woodworkers on-hand to ask questions.
Sessions will run outdoors on the last Wednesday of the month April – June, making the most of the bright spring evenings. Be sure to wrap up warm and wear something you don’t mind getting messy! Workshops are pay-what-you-can-afford with a suggested donation £5 / £10 / £12, all materials and equipment will be included. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Why Workshops for Women?
We recognise that woodwork and the realm of ‘practical’ skills are often dominated by men. W4W* aims to increase access for people systemically excluded from these types of activities and work, questions and learn without prior knowledge.
More about Civic Yard
W4W* will take place outside in the yard opposite Civic House, alongside Bike For Good’s Women and Non-Binary Bike Maintenance Session (formally Spokes not Blokes). We are happy to hear from you if you have any questions about the workshops or if you have any access or support requirements that we can help accommodate.
